Reality Check

byRedHairedandFriendly©

Hold my hand.
Don't let me go.
The pain is real.
The hurt well told.
My heart aches when the leaves start to fall.
It marks the day you last called.

My tears fall on
cheeks made of ice;
Frozen smile, locked in a timeless vice,
waiting for the day to come
when one of us releases the other one.

Soon the pain will be to great.
My soul will crumble,
my will shall break.
Then I'll come to you and see
that I am just a memory.
