my aunt said goodbye
and in the back yard
kissed a gun goodnight
my neice decided to change schools
excusing herself with a bottle
of ibuprofen
and a profound apathy for life
An ex-girlfriend
dug in deep
in Bush’s latest folly
pleads
I need to get out of here.
Get me out of here
Please?
I use to bang my head against the wall
because it hurt more when I stopped.
In Arizona
water falls 200 feet
in the Havasu Reservation,
not once, not twice, but three times.
The ten mile hike in moonlight to camp
worth every step
swimming, the cacti fields, the desert
with no walls.
None of them have seen this
but I have.
