and in the back yard
kissed a gun goodnight
my neice decided to change schools
excusing herself with a bottle
of ibuprofen
and a profound apathy for life
An ex-girlfriend
dug in deep
in Bush’s latest folly
pleads
I need to get out of here.
Get me out of here
Please?
I use to bang my head against the wall
because it hurt more when I stopped.
In Arizona
water falls 200 feet
in the Havasu Reservation,
not once, not twice, but three times.
The ten mile hike in moonlight to camp
worth every step
swimming, the cacti fields, the desert
with no walls.
None of them have seen this
but I have.
............to this wonderful, hope filled poem. I'm SO glad I scrolled back to poems I missed before. Thank you HP.
DANG! There goes my last one. . . errr, I mean five. I'm cleaned out of even seed stock, but this one is worth having to reorder from Parks. . . errr, Perks. . . whatever. :)
Excellent Homer! >?(((><
to write Visionary, as you know Homie. It's a beautiful poem, not only for how well it's written, but also for what it says about the person who wrote it. Everyone should go to your page and read your poems--this one is another gem. :)
Very vivid and careful descript?on of poignance, from someone who seems to have found perspectiva and come to terms. Bravo.
This is so good, Homer.
The last part simply left me in awe of the way you handled this poem.
