(the following haiku were written during and/or about my six week stay at "The Treatment Center of Palm Beaches" in Florida.)

my arrival was
rude awakening; salesmen
were quite dishonest

omelette breakfast
sliced fruit plate but no coffee;
conversation calms

the yard surrounded
by diverse palms green and brown;
huddled groups smoking

walking the track. "don't
ask, don't tell" is ended. Black
gecko high on palm

lying in the sun;
the sound of horse-shoes and voices:
soft, old, low, young, loud

needle marks, stories
stark. dark clouds on a blue sky.
not a place for play

five weeks in: the pain
has not improved. All my thoughts
aimed at survival

arrived back home in
Modernia: books,
medicine, net, friends

I agree with Vee

Taken together I like the clear images that create a picture of a time that is conveyed both physically and emotionally, and all with showing, not telling. Nice to read you again, and I wish you the best on your journey.

These make up a pretty damn good poem

composed of tercets but these aren't haiku; too many images, not internal comparison or association they do however hit on the ambiguity meter. Presented as a single unit, they make a pretty good poem though.
