i could not wait for Vishnu
knowing we had laid ourselves open
to invade faith with science

within the drag of a milleniums fist
the helix uncoiled and secrets spilled into the
centrifuged hands of those who would be Brahma

in a spin too fast to realize
that we had instead become Shiva
and made a kingdom inside the double helix

without disease
we would live - forever
but you did not
and i could not wait for Vishnu

i knew
as i kissed the purple hue of your lips,
tasted your still breath,
laid my face into the embalmers art

kneeled in a hypocrisy of prayer
while fusing my twisted faith
and blue remnants of you
into an incubator

science would save us -

- you
- me

through division and multiplication
squared over prayers
to whomever would listen
forgive me
i could not wait for Vishnu
