Retail Prayer

Mirror, oh please mirror on the wall,
Fashion seasons Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall,
Man, woman, and child, fat, thin, short, and tall,
Who has the best selection of them all?
“You do, that’s who.”

Mirror, dearest mirror on the wall,
Bargain outlet, discount store, and shopping mall,
When sales and merchandise markdowns befall,
Who has the lowest prices of them all?
“You do, that’s who.”

Mirror, the best mirror on the wall,
Why won’t valued customers come in to call,
When I’m the best retailer of them all?
“Soon, Christmas will come and sales will snowball,
With this recession few have the wherewithal.”
