First my arms are pinned together,
Then the eyes, cut off from sight.
Soon, the coils of rope and leather
Gag and silence in the night;
Tie and twist me, taut and tight.
Yet I am still- I would not plead;
Do not pity me my plight.
These bonds but serve a vital need:
The flesh entrapped- the spirit freed!
