Inbetween venus and mars
Is where we lost our love
Is where we lost our hearts
Is where we lost our minds
Is where we lost our souls

The light of day sees us going our separate ways
Well to tell you the rainbow colored truth
This comes to me as no surprise
We were never in the same mind to begin with

You were always thinking of your beloved inamorata
As I acquiescently sat next to you
Wearing a beguiling smile upon my face
While I obligingly role-played your ex-lover

Inbetween venus and mars
Where you lost your love
Where you lost your heart
Where you lost your mind
Where you lost your soul

You tried to keep her hidden inside unkempt silence
Beneath an old photograph hanging on your wall
Above pandora's box that holds your jilted past
Those copious years you spent together (two by two)

Spent sitting on a bench of promised tomorrows
While wishing upon a star from afar for them to come true
Unfortunately they never saw the light of day
Instead remained hidden under a bed of regrets

Where you used to make passionate love
Unfortunately it's become your place of reminisce
Where you mourn the lost past you shared together
As I duly role-played your ex-lover

Inbetween venus and mars
Where I lost my love
Where I lost my heart
Where I lost my mind
Where I lost my soul

I remember how you paced the floors of insomnia
Until sleep sullenly came your way
Where she would creep inside your dreams
Throwing visions of yesterday's paradise at you

Visions that took you forward back
Through the mind's window of time
To a land of pained memories best forgotten
So I graciously role-played your ex-lover

Inbetween venus and mars
Where we lost our love
Where we lost our hearts
Where we lost our minds
Where we lost our souls

Deep inside your slumber
Beyond the realms of misbegotten dreams
You took respite from past regrets
Hid from the stinging slap of time's hands

Shut off bitter feelings of loneliness
That seeped inside your soul
Feelings that abducted you at every turn
Inside the backalleys of your mind

You warily passed the best of your life away
Passed desolate nights into disowned days
Carelessly threw best forgotten minutes away
As I passively role-played your ex-lover

Inbetween venus and mars
Where love is lost
Where hearts are lost
Where minds are lost
Where souls are lost
