Tendrils of light creep across the horizon
Highlighting most of your beautiful face
Looking at you as the morning sun comes
I feel only love for your poise and your grace

As you stir slowly my gaze on you lingers
Each year that comes you’re more precious to me
Right by your side I await your awakening
There’s no place else that I’d rather be

Thinking of us and the life we’ve created
Reminds me how happy my life is with you
So many times that we’ve shared here together
Good times and bad times with old friends and new

While all around us relationships falter
We are the constant expected to last
What is the secret? A question left hanging
Live for the future and not for the past

Still when I sit many memories come flooding
Snapshots of us and the beauty we’ve shared
In my mind’s eye every picture is stunning
The house and the pet and the kids that we’ve reared

When I was younger my hurt made me harder
Never would I have believed in true love
Soulmates and long love was sop stuff for losers
More wasted faith in the big guy above

All I can do now is laugh at the old me
That me could never imagine this bliss
What could be better than life, love and laughter?
No! Not 1 thing could be better than this
