Right when you said
that you love me,

I stared in disgust
at a dirty crust
on the spoon you chose
to stir your tea.

I'll remember forever
that dried latte foam,
framed over the mantlepiece
of my mind, as where
it all began.

You never picked
clean spoons,

but you kept saying
that you love me.

So I didn't mind.

For what it is

it is.

Right when you said

that you love me,

I stared in disgust

at a dirty crust

on the spoon you chose

to stir your tea.

excellent timing, BTW

mister minor monster

it made me happy when

Jack in the box started serving

monster tacos - as I thought

monsters were an underused resource

and were probably better to eat

ecology wise; I try to act globally

but your work has given me

a newfound respect for them

I would hate, after enjoying your work so much

think that monsters are callously slain

simply as a beef alternative for my taco meat

when they could be writing brilliant poetry.
