Romance?
What do I know of romance?
What do I know
of Love's Distresses?

Historically
I've had french fries
pushed around my mouth
by some young boy's tongue
but romance?
What do I know of that?

One October day
I got drunk in a white dress
with some guy in black
I think I danced with a gay guy
and the flowers were all wrong
You'd think that day there'd
be romance.
but what do I know of that?

I remember one summer
when I drove around with
this curly haired woman
she opened my blossom
with the wet of her tongue
I remember heat
but not romance.
What do I know of that?

I know the span of a life time
in the moment before a kiss
I know the colours of a duck's embrace
I know the feel of dance under
a rain addicted sky
I know stolen glimpses
of earth's lust

Should I name them "romance"
I name them life

but Romance
what do I know of that?
