The room is long
   and narrow
Where my lover and I
   lie in bed
   together.

These four walls exude a warmth
that can only be matched
   by my lover's eyes
   and embrace.

The room in long
   and narrow
Where my lover and I
   love each other
   in silence.

We do not wish
   to share our love
   with the house,
   the world-

It is our alone
   for now
In this room,
   long and narrow.

know what?

I have read a poem, a really good one, but the title escapes me right now, but in it, the author refers to the "long and narrow house" he is referring to a coffin...was this your intent as well? I like what is implied, good work :)
