My heart has been through so much, love,
And my soul has been beaten and bruised.
My world was full of broken promises,
My dreams were shattered repeatedly
Until I thought I could no longer endure the pain.
The sun no longer rose, and the stars refused to shine.
Darkness surrounded me and despair consumed every fiber of my being.
Suddenly, like lightening flashing,
The sun came out and the darkness faded away.
With the first sound of your voice, life renewed itself
And I no longer felt alone or afraid.
My soul, bound by chains, broke free
And my heart began to beat again.
Now your promises of forever
And vows of love pulse through my veins.
Now I give myself to you freely,
My heart is yours.
Cherish and protect it, darling.
It only beats for you,
I breathe for you alone.
I love you, precious one.
Hold me, baby, and never let go.
