I have a sanctuary to which I run,
I usually seek it when day is done,
Most of it is with me no matter where I go.
It's all because I love you and even told you so.
Our love is my sanctuary although that word can encompass all.
Still it is my haven without boundaries or wall.
I'm sheltered when I'm sleeping and when I'm wide awake.
I really feel its safety when my sanity's at stake.
We hold silent conversations in the silence of my room.
It's almost like a miracle as it dissipates the gloom.
I've used our sanctuary when my mind is filled with doubt.
You'd be surprised at how that time helps me figure things out.
But when I want you near, my dear, and really need you here,
That's when my sanctuary really stands out clear.
It helps me conjure up your face and hear your loving voice,
Those times in my haven makes my heart want to rejoice.
What I really mean, my love, to make my point stand out
This poem is to and for you, that's what it's all about.
Without your love and caring this haven could not be,
It was built out of our love, completely built by you and me.
