Awakening hard alone
another Saturday morning
rising on your scent
somewhere from the bedding
about my head and shoulders
where your head would lie
as we crept into each other
willing abandonment rising
you rushing to get there first
I following close behind
waiting for the edge from which
return is seductive illusion
you would not call nor
would I ask for your return
arriving safely at your bidding
accepting the fragile boundaries
of commitments entanglements
lost in the passion of the moment
somewhere in the shadows of joy
crying into each others hearts
collapsing lips softly touching
sweet breaths surrender fragrance.
