Today is the day my life will change; no longer will I be me
Finally, I will have stepped out the door and allowed myself to be free
No more chains to bind me here, I’m off to see the who I am
Leaving behind my sadness and grief and polishing my inner gem

Today is the day I finally shine and no more will I be drawn down
I’m tired of hoping and wishing for naught, I’m tired of wearing this frown
There’s no looking back for me anymore, I’m off and on my own way
One foot in front of the other for me, discovering great things today

Today is the day that I think about me; it’s time to feel worthy and strong
So world be prepared, I am venturing out to a place where I feel I belong
The people will greet me and I will greet them, people I really adore
This Laura Janine has gotten a job at a place called The Duncan Bay Store!
