At the end of the day, I sit on the verandah
sometimes
ruminating, watching as the leaves rustle
I sit and watch and the seasons change
winter spring fall and summer

How unfortunate those who cannot see all of them
Then the eye of the mind walks
all that buzz and all that derangement
That silent beckoning across the way,
barren meanderings, twisting paths
                                       Branches brush against the flesh,
                                       twigs gathered, are they birch?
the light rustling of the banyan leaves

Taken in the dark, eyes open and blood rimmed,
the dawn light suffusing the sky,
lights up twisted forms,
lying waste on the lichen beside the Tree
lazy licks, whispersoft tremblings
Move the earth and burrow after grubs

Once We walked,  once we roamed
Free and clear as birds on a wire
and then
                                       Brought back to that verandah
Grating voices
Dear take the damn trash out

His life passing By, while He sits and watches
But wait,
                This once He seeks again
