I was lonely you were lonely, and it seemed only fair.
That our lives would somehow cross, and we would feel the need to care.

There was no pressure between us, we both followed our hearts.
Until outside forces felt it necessary, to tear our hearts apart.

Now we are two bleeding hearts, floating alone in pain.
Confusion has surrounded us, fear flows through our veins.

We never meant to hurt anyone, especially not each other.
Why couldn’t our secret be left alone. Why couldn’t we remain undercover?

The purpose of our joining, was to fulfill a burning need.
Not to take advantage of each other, or express a sense of greed.

I needed your arms around me, you needed me to fill the void.
Both of our lives were happy and content, until our secret got destroyed.

Now I’m forced to admire you from a distance, with only these few memories to hold.
Any attempt to extend a warm invitation, would be returned with a feeling of cold.

Even though I knew this separation was inevitable, it still hurts deep down inside.
Now I must fight to contain this pain, in an effort to protect my pride.

We never meant for it to end like this, no one plans for a relationship to fail.
Maybe someday we will both be free, to allow our true feelings to prevail.

Only time will be able to tell, what the outcome of this situation will be.
But until that time you can assure your mind, that our secret is safe with me.

Fantastic stuff!

As always, loved this

heartbraking tale of

a love that can

never grow or flourish

just linger in the

air, a constant reminder

of what is no more and can

never be again.

Great work, loved it.

Thank you.
