Written on my soul
Is your indelible song
An unmendable breach
A hole that no other fits
A cry in the infinite dark
Echoes across my cold crevices
Ringing from peak to frosty peak
A cry I no longer need to know
Yet hear anyway
The shard that shattered my soul
Shivers in response
And the solid steel encasing my spirit
Shudders in its moorings
And shifts from the seal
Flooding my mind
With the light of a dangerous dream
I drown in the desperate daze
The tidal pull is irresistible
I wake and break beneath
Sputtering, choking
I succumb to the raging sea
That is my own heart
Come to ravish me.
