There's blood on the moon tonight.
I watched as it rose between the blue hills,
the mist running before it.

There's blood on the moon tonight.
I prayed as it rose
that my loved ones would be spared.

Theres blood on the moon tonight.
Wringing my hands to wash out the sins
as I walked in its obliterating path.

Septembers Bloody Moon; shall it always be so?

There's blood on the moon tonight

and it rose to the challenge. This is wonderful.

that is a wonderful, repeated line

it seems this poem has potential for development and was stifled by the constraints of the challenge rules / if this were mine, i would expand it by a large margin /
