~*~
Soft moans echoed
down a quiet hall,
another love lost
long after the fall.
Shadows danced
across the floor,
shocked and frozen
I stood at the door.
In utter confusion
words were too late,
you rambled excuses,
cursing your fate.
I cried rivers silently,
moved out on my own,
to learn of a loneliness
deeper than I’d ever known.
