I could not bear to watch
the lovers lips entwined,
the way her shoulders quivered,
the way his lips caressed them.
the passion almost macabre.

It was not for watching
but for feeling, knowing.
A haunting moment of silence.
as bodies arched in agony
yearning for release.

And yet I watched
Like silent keepers of time.
Picture perfect love scenes.
an electrifying mural,
Shadows on the wall.

Like shadows on a wall...

Loved it quietpoly! Glimpsing into the lives of others, observing yet joining in the feeling of the life, events, people, places you see. Voyeurism...maybe it's just the longing to share a moment of anothers pleasure. Once again...I really loved this work. Thank you for sharing.

Simply stated

and very well written! Nice tension between watching the shadows and the remove of it all. :)
