Shame is the need I know
that knows no end

Shame is the way I look at you
as you walk towards me
smiling and polite
while I undress you in my mind
and there you are mine, living only to do the things that give me pleasure
Your existence is my hedonism

And I smile back, as if something you said was amusing
I imagine the feel of your ears on my inner thighs
and you are good, so thorough
but then I knew you would be
your need mirrors my own

Now I’m talking
about something safe and polite, maybe the weather
all I can think about is how your lips could make me moan and writhe
what power you have over me, without even knowing it
but the you I know, the one that exists only for me, that body and your need to please
make my shame bearable
