Is there something that needs saying
is there something I should know
is there something that I'm missing
if there is then TELL ME so
a scent heavy as incense, permeates the air
the scent of discontent, the odor
of unhappiness and despair.
As I try again to display how I feel
I shiver from the chill of the cold
flowing from you like an arctic wind
is there something that needs saying
is there something I should know
as we continue to pretend
holding on to things
that should be let go
drifting from day to day
keeping truth at bay
and at night
back to back we lay neither wanting
to admit that something is not quite
right

Cocooned and held tight within the veil of dark
SILENCE©
