Simple Things

byMoistlips©

Simple things make life good...
the ones that seem so small.
The little things not counted...
because you can't count them all.
I like the smell after it rains,
or when the grass it cut.
The way newly sanded wood, stains,
or the sound of a cracking nut.
I love the way the water laps,
at the ocean's shore.
I enjoy the gleam of a freshly mopped,
sparkling kitchen floor.
The sound of childen when they play,
is music to my ears.
And once in awhile, it's joy for me,
to be shedding happy tears.
The noise of a plane flying high,
high above in the summer sky...
The touch of a gentle breeze,
The feeling you get when you sneeze!
the lazy rambling flow,
of a clear, clean mountian creek.
Finding that you already know..
what to expect from the week.
It's the simple things that make life good,
and get you through the days.
So many are never noticed
they just happen in many ways.
I like to speak to strangers,
just to hello..
A smile can say a thousand words,
as everybody knows..
I love when a man opens doors for me,
and allows me to go first.
It's fun to blow up balloons,
then have one suddenly burst!
The first bite of an ice cream cone,
so delicious and such a treat...
to hear the very first word
from your child
a sound that's very sweet...
The simple things can be the best..
they cause no harm,
they aren't a test...
A cup of coffee, fresh and hot..
while you contemplate what you've got..
the joy of family,
(that counts a lot)
Or when you suddenly remember,
something you'd forgot!
the love of good friends..
a relationship
strong and true...
these are a few of the simple things
that bless me and you.
