Looking for a life, in the aisle by the clues,
figure what the hell, I’ve nothing left to lose.

It’s been so very long, I hope it’s not too late,
Not sure I even know how… to ask them for a date.

I can’t be so bad, hey it must be easy,
but I can’t seem too desperate, too lonely or too sleazy.

All my old friends, they don’t talk to me these days
now that it’s just me again, we’re slightly out of phase.

And all the other singles, I don’t know where they are
So I spend the long nights waiting, sitting in the bar.

I’ll put a dollar in the jukebox, and by another round,
these must be my friends here, there the only ones I’ve found.

So I chat about the team and have another drink,
If I keep on talking I’ll never have to think.

Down another beer, and I’ll hang out at the bar
with the glow of alcohol I know love isn’t very far.

I keep on buying drinks, till my cash runs out
forget about the lonely & what real life’s all about.

It all seems so shallow, so meaningless it’s true
but still I keep on coming, trying to catch a clue.
