All the lil' snowflakes
slowly swirlin' round
circles and circles
'til covering the ground.
Adding each upon each
the blanket thickens -
the silence of held breath
as eyes slowly glaze
the memories so long locked
within
replay...

She had this laugh
- you KNOW the kind,
infectuous as hell
til her whole body shook
and then yours as well.
She died at 16,
as the laughter fell silent
and her eyes no longer cried.

He wondered about so many things
- justice and injustice
and the whys of all the hates
and HOW there came tomorrows
no different then todays.
He understood
pride
and prejudice
and anger...
KNEW unanswered dreams
and questioned GOD
'til he was answered
- an unseen car that took him
to the wheres of shadows,
in the realms of mist.

And the sun peeked through,
and the brightness HURT eyes
still full of unseeable things -
moments not meant to come so freely,
moments so hidden even the mind
thought they were gone,
moments of yesterdays
bits of tomorrows
frozen and transparent -
for they never were
nor ever could be -
anymore.

and a tear slowly finds its way
as all the others before

A ragged breath
a tightness within
clamping hard as hands clench so very tight
and the second-hand sweeps
the ticks a fast whirl
echoing in my ears...
all the lil' snowflakes
slowly swirlin' round...

Very nice piece;

So many levels of pain abound

Within the vision of snow's mercy...
