Solitude is my companion today
As thoughts turn to him surprisingly
I can’t express the turmoil of feelings
My heart has embraced so willingly
But strongly today my being feels his burning absence
It’s not even been hours that his arms soothed me
Time taken for granted on my part
Stolen moments and bonding that I couldn’t see
My lips ache to feel his searing kiss
My eyes search helplessly for his reassuring smile
Aching arms reach out in longing want
But for today, solitude befriends me a while
