i have gone so deep in search
abandoned hope of all return set free
my thirst for understanding
wanton like the air with which i breath
caressed in currents comfortless shorn naked of belief
the warmth seeps outward from my body spirit wakes in vigil over me
am driven mindless unforgiven cast
upon the reefs my drifting passage downward
marked in silent trails of blood to speak
and in a final breath surrendered from between my lips recedes
an effervescent trail ascending light beyond my darkest dreams

i have gone so deep in search to find myself alone upon the surface
filled in crystalline, with tears of neither joy nor sadness;
something else
