The darkness settles deeply into mind

The lights that once were shown now slowly fade

The gears of thoughts so deep turn, crush, and grind

Remembrances of yesterday’s games played

Our past is gone, no changes now be had

Mem’ries of grass so fresh, green in the yard

Small minds unclouded, no knowledge of ‘sad’

Old friends long gone, as paper to discard

Loneliness familiar to the wretched

Wand’ring mind known to the unforgiven

Heartless deeds are often to them fetched

Shall no one dare to keep this one driven?

Content they seem until the end of days

A snap is heard, bright colors turn to grays
