What do I care for love? What fools inspired
Is hardly worth one’s time, and so I’ve turned
My back upon the joys I once desired;
I spurn those things for which I sometimes yearned -
And should I turn away it’s but to hide
My longing gets the better of my pride.

Better to own the truth...

...even if it's only to oneself!
