Yesterday came like a wisp of wind, it blew right through,
My soul.
The emptiness rattled my aching bones, and made me realise,
I’m whole.

As time passes through the day I’m getting stronger,
And stronger,
The days ‘ll reflect my emotions, getting longer
And longer.

And winter winds are now calming, like my hurt,
That I had.
I can be reborn in spring sunlight, and see you,
As a passing fad.

I can move on to the coming good times, and look forward,
To summer sun.
Evolve from hurting so much, ensure my heart will,
Still run.

I can open my winter coat and bear my soul,
To new warmth soon.
See my new growth arriving, and hopefully,
I’ll bloom.

Move on to ’pastures new’ and set the past, firmly,
In the past.
Dig out my old smile, and wear it again, find someone,
Who’ll make it last.

Summers coming to me now, I can see it
In the distance.
I have no choice, it WILL be here, I offer,
No resistance.

Bring me warmth, bring me feeling, bring out my love,
Burning inside.
Show me there are warm times coming, and life’s not just,
A ride.

Interesting.

Having been taken severely to task over the use of ''in my own writing, I found the enclosed words, 'pastures new' somehow comforting. BTW, loved the poem. A real incentive to anticipate Summer.

~~

The summer as recovering from a crushed love; think you meant to say, "bare my soul."
