I remember the days,
We once spent together,
Lazing on the beach,
Days that were filled,
With sunshine.

Years later I lay here by myself,
I glance up as a cloud covers the sun,
That’s how I remember you,
My sunshine taken away.

Emotions roll through me,
As I’m lost in memories,
What went so wrong?
You were here one second,
And gone the next.

Does a lonely heart,
Really deserve this heartache?

As I lay here in my disguise,
I shiver with the cold,
What happens when a person,
Loses their loved ones?
They’re like a flower,
Without any sunshine.

Without you sunshine,
I’m still not ready to exist,
You and me used to co-exist,
But without you,
There’s only rain.

Ain't no Sunshine...

Evoking images of sun-lit days of surf and sand ~ and someone you're wild about is a lovely way of reminiscing ~ while pondering a love lost forever. Beautiful images.

A pattern I see here in works submitted; seems like a collection of almost cathartic writes. Hope it helps.
