your skin was not solid to
my touch

the already dead sheath that contained you

moving mercury
here separated there rejoined
flowing magma
here destroyed there made new

molecules being mostly empty space
this was how we fit inside each other

the already dead sheath that contained me

my skin
was not solid to your touch
