Black as night
stars are silent
crickets chirp
in the void of light.

Feral beings
circling one another
eyes aglow
the only light that’s seen.

Mists aloft
swirling, clawing
silent watchers
seemingly embossed.

The darkness comforts
close your eyes
let the sighs
escape--
your lips, apart.

Close your eyes
feel the release
runaway
never cease; you cannot cease.
You must not cease.
