To the poetry fans of Literotica, my apologies and a plea for forgiveness. The verse tells it all…

I entered Survivor, I did
I wish now that I had stayed hid
For I must write poetry
I never wrote poetry
Since schooldays, when I was a kid

Survivor requires me to write
In fields old and new, dark and light
But one of them’s poetry
I have to write poetry
Thethought of it gives me a fright

What now shall I do, as I muse
Over poetry forms to abuse
‘Cause I fear my poetry
Will cause all the poetry
Fans to throw rocks and old shoes

Before it gets better it’s worse
Is it Haiku, or sonnet or verse
What I know of poetry
Of real forms of poetry
Would scarce fill a very small purse

But here I will end this lament
For I realise my attempt
To try and write poetry
My own simple poetry
Has come to an end, with intent

I Know Nothing of Poetry, but I Will Give You a "5" for Effort and Go On to Read the...

rest because I only have one more story to read from Alex, and I'm not read to move on to another author just yet.

What is Poetry?

I liked the tone of this poem and the rhyme scheme.

I think you could have done more justice to your talents by forgetting rhyme and scansion. If you had written a very carefully composed and sparsely worded piece (as you can do) it would have counted as poetry.
