my lips slide around your gooey treat
even though I’ll get a belly ache.
like strawberries dipped in chocolate,
like caramel ladled on ice cream,
you are just too much of a good thing.
like cake with icing too thick to eat,
or a soft drink that can’t quench my thirst,
you are sweetness at its very worst.
you decay my teeth and make me fat
and raise pimples on my pretty face.
you stir my cocktail with sugarcane,
and spread my biscuits with raw honey.
you make me a candy apple slut
covered with syrupy wickedness
and simpering as your just dessert.
