You whisper soft
"I'm a girl and you're a boy
You'll be hot so I'll play coy
We can arc across the dark
How damn hard can it be
to unwind those ties that bind?
Close your eyes
Let's fly blind"
But now there's only
wisps of vapour trails
over shadow land
We were just tourists
of each other's flesh
This crust of love
clings to hotel sheets
like duty free perfume
"Wish you were here"
Free falling now
Blind eyes open wide
Falling free
I'm switching to glide

Angelineover 15 years agoand seems infused with undercurrents of meaning to me, meaning that could go in various directions which is what good poetry must do. The crust that clings to sheets like duty free perfume is the best part, imho. Again, fraught with meaning and great, precise imagery. :-)
