Take me my angel,
Soar me above these dreary moments.
Far away so can see where I have been.
Help me escape my past.
So I can remember who I was.
Give me strength to see the future.
So I may hope once again.

Take me my love,
Softly in your arms.
Hold me closely,
Pushing away my fears.
Help me escape a nightmare,
That I’m still trying to run.
Hold the demons at bay and give me peace
Take me away from all the dark shadows.

Take me my dear,
Up above.
Make this sadness go away.
Heal the heart that has been broken.
Mend the scars which have begun to bleed.
Soothe the fire that seems to burn,
Endlessly within my mind.

Take me my angel,
Away from here.
Bring me back to myself.
Start this wondrous feeling,
With a kiss.
Stay with me always,
So I won't have to feel,
The emptiness of trying to remember
The woman I used to be.

Welcome back to Lit, after your absence, with this evocative piece of recovering from life's pains; very moving prose verse.

Evocative and Sweet.

Beautiful rendering as far as the rhyme goes. The many images so varied and stark only increased the joy of reading this poem. Lovely Write!
