deceptive assassin, she crept up on my passion
developed a picture of a thought in my head
i found my wish dead
stomp to the ground with a pounding foot
a thunderous sound as best i could put
but it stayed in my head
as a good wish should and i longed it return
but it never would
she just gave it away at an auction i think
said it was too much to handle for one man to drink
that a wish so desired would bring me to one knee
and she wasn't ready to be
or not to be

i left her a note that said my heart cried
ran down to a cliff and jumped off the side
bottomed out from a bump in the road
it did explode

deceptive assassin, she crept up on my passion
snapped a new image of a coal miners romance
a dirty dance of a playful sort
but don't get caught
or it'll mean a life, or a sentence of one
she had brought out the gun, and intended a death
of her own or of mine, i still took a breath
and i closed my eyes
to awake in a feild of tiger eyes
of a hundred lies and just one truth
that a day was done, and with it, my youth

i left a note to the world that read
i think the girl shot me in the head
or in the heart, but whatever the case
run if one should see her face

deceptive assassin, she murdered my passion
