Stop light sun sinking
Red behind trees
Bleeding,
Dark with need,

Breath catching thought
In silence hangs
Caught,
Carried by wind,

Painting new memories
This fine scene
Flees,
Taking my fill,

I, mind glowing
Grow through pain
Stumbling,
Toward my Zen.

(humble reverence to Kamo no Chome for the borrowed lines and title)

It's very good that you let the reader know about Kamo no Chomei. I wish you would have put his lines in italics. I'd like to know which parts of the poem are yours. :)

I do like the poem, especially the first stanza.
