Rain on my cold face
Blends with salty tears
Fallen from swollen eyes

Heart filled with sadness
Rain teeming down on me
Drenched, my body is still

Drips run from cuff and hem
My body is limp and numb
Rain washes unnoticed by me

Rain from stormy clouds
Silent sobbing released
Screaming from inside

Energy almost spent
Raining from my soul
As Summer storm passes

The sky begins to clear
My morose mood lightens
Rain and tears into the Earth

Rain nurtures the fertile soil
Sun dries up small puddles
Storms pass as does sadness
