"Tears Of Spring..."

The cold's still sharp
and biting deep -
though cross the land
stirring from its sleep,
surprising in its strength,
the life within
recovers
once again.

Windows beckon weary eyes
with the promise still held
somehow within
of the new and rising
yet to come... but
it remains unseen,
the gray and dark
still holds sway.

Elbows meld to window sill
eyes lost in memory stare...
the sound of heartbleat
is all their is -
yet again the day beckons,
relentlessly
endlessly...
beckons.

The call is strong -
the moments drawn
til spreading thin
I vanish in
the haze of days
lost ever again
yet always remembered
for what they didn't really hold...
I know -
truly know,
but I still wish they did.

The tears of spring
softly rain -
welling from flowing thoughts
condensing cross the seeing eyes
til gathering fall.
They drizzle down -
subtly weathering cheeks
that freshly glisten
reflecting the dark...
pooling as tears so often do -
within a bleeding heart.
