Click heretell me again why you love me
I do not wish to seem vain, indulgent, needy
but I forget sometimes
when life is difficult
tell me again why you love me
because you are so clever
if you love me it must be true
I am lovable indeed
your words can be my elixir
your gaze has been my solace
your arms are my haven
tell me again why you love me
even when I can't believe your reasons
I know that you don't lie
I can feel that I am loved
tell me once more why you love me
please do not grow weary
I need to hear it sometimes
and it is best coming from you
...and Heartfelt!
I believe it. Makes me want to say it!
We are all vulnerable people to some degree and it is not necessarily to the extent of making an all-inclusive characterization that describes the complete person.
I find the poem balanced and aware. It is the equivalent of asking for a hug. Who can put a limit on how many times you need a hug or how many times you need to hear “I love you?”
The poem contains a combination of needs expressed and expressions of awareness so all told it is a sweet glimpse at a person in a loving relationship. I like the poem.
My wife asks that questions occasionally. I tell her I love her every day and every night. She is the light in my darkness, the soft place I go to fall.
Can an insecure person be made to feel secure by words? Oh, the pain of being in love! Succinct verse revealing that, despite her protestations, she really is needy.
