surrender unto ways of old in struggle, must we stand alone, raise
battlements in shifting sand suspicion builds, and guides our hand

surrender unto shadowed fear, in dust heart withered flowing tears
allow no things to grow, salt sewn, doubt claims our lives its own

surrender unto thought proud borne, raised cry of declaration worn
as thin as air, yet truth, the blood still runs from those we slew

surrender unto conscience blind drawn room is darkened yet to find
deceit lies in despairs embrace, in comforts name with hidden face

surrender unto killing fields a lone one treads, untrusted, wields
no fear all weapons cast aside with true intent face does not hide

surrender unto trust unknown determined thought heart boldly shown
in outstretched arms revealed, on high both hands held unconcealed

one hand is held with nothing shown, closed in grasp, hollow stone
silence threat to all, self bound intent, wells hidden underground

the other hand is opened wide, emptiness can nothing hide in offer
promise, dreams fulfilled, gives form to yearning, heart is willed

rendered are the views eyes filled with doubt, scorn, suspect ruse
our hands can hold, no thing, can loose, we have no choice and yet

must choose our; terms of surrender
