Everyone loves her
that Special-Needs girl

Fragile in body
yet tough in spirit

Always smiling
through crooked teeth

Willing to walk
despite the brace

And the twinkle in her eye
puts us all to shame

No one can touch her purity
No one can match her beauty

And when I pick her up-
gaze into those innocent eyes

I tremble at
the true meaning of life

Purity.

If there is anything more special than a little child - it's a child starting life with a handicap. Lovely delicate rendering.

Nice job, Sack. I hate the label, too, tho I fostered a Downs woman for 13 yrs. Really special people! Thanks.

In spite of the fact ...

... that I hate the label "special needs," I love the emotion conveyed here. One only has to work closely with children with disabilities to know the incredible determination and incomparable joy they possess. It is truly inspirational. Nice work, sack. ~Imp
