The Art of Saying Nothing

The art of saying nothing,
The ability to still be read.
Even if I don't say a word,
you understand by the way I hold my head.

Whether I am happy,
Or just in deep thought.
If I want silence...
Or if I really need to talk.

You understand my anger,
By the intensity of my stare.
The tenseness of my shoulders,
And the emotions I hold there.

I don't say a word but you observe,
And know what's bothering me.
I'm amazed by your compassion,
Your attentiveness for what you see.

My happiness is your business,
And you make sure you always succeed.
You know the art of saying nothing,
And still being able to read.

Lovely ode to connection beyond words. Words are overrated, it's the heart that counts.
