The Beginning – Sonnet 1#

To drink and laugh, to smile, to meet the time,
I arrive with lover’s limbo in my bones
Without pretence it’s known I’m not alone
But destiny paints wishes on my mind
And freckles neath your eyes say you’re my kind
Perhaps forgotten beauty lies at home
The sentinels get ready to throw stones
But what they see can only make them blind.

And so, how sweet you look I do not word
Just listen like a dream might be in play
The whispers from your eyes to mine in travel
To recess in the space where you will stay
Where secretly I still sing like a bird
Wondering how this flight night will unravel.
