hear-
better yet-
hark-
pay attention
when at your seat.
if all goes well
while listening,
that sense of build-up
can really get one excited.
it is non-denominational
and draws large crowds
from all walks of life,
and has a way
that depicts
the best of time
for the ages.
we all wait
for the line
to come together
at just the right angle.
and if it does,
it's quite alright
to stand up-
do a little screaming,
wave your arms,
because you're in the spotlight
in one of the finest halls-
especially
when you can claim
the prize by saying,
*B I N G O*
Bingo, Housey seems to be played everywhere. When my gran in England played though she didn't say - she shouted, screamed, hollered "bingo" as loud as she could.
I've always loved the game but never cared much for the smoke filled atmosphere. LOL! Yet, this poem nicely captures the excitement of life's simple diversions.
You've done it again today for Me with this slice of one of the greatest American pastimes. I remember fondly going to bingo at one of the church's in My hometown and hoping I'd win the big pot at the end of the night. 'Course, I didn't, but the build up of excitement through the night was still worth the disappointment at the end. Thank you for bringing those memories back to Me this Sunday morning.
