Humans, we're all locked in our own cage,
We call it our body, it gets weaker with age.

Baby fat, teenage acne'til you're old and worn
There's more then one color. Shaped in many a form.

From tall to short and from fat to thin,
Most of us are not happy in our skin.

Some try improving their looks with surgery, diet or sport.
The extreme make overs, to often do end up at a court.

Society tells us success depends on youth and beauty,
They want us to give it all we got to become a cutie.

90-60-90, that are the measurements a woman has to be,
That this does lead to anorexia, nobody wants to see.

The media makes it sound all so perfect and nice.
In truth, they're showing us a world filled with lies.

Forever young that's what it is basically about,
Party, after party! Every night they go out.

No one will be young and good-looking forever.
Getting plastic surgery, thinking you're so clever.

The physique will one day be just a weak construction,
And nothing can change that, not even liposuction.

One day we will leave all this nonsense behind,
I do hope, otherwise I would loose my mind.

Thinking all this fake stuff may go on after death.
I wanna have peace after taking my last breath.

Leaving not only this empty timeworn husk on earth,
But all the troubles that I've collected since my birth.

Finally, I will have escaped the prison I have been stuck in,.
Free to roam, when my spirit wants to be traveling.

Forever young is everyones desire...

and sadly that cannot be:

"The media makes it sound all so perfect and nice.

In truth, they're showing us a world filled with lies."

so true.

All that partying catches up, till in old age, excuse me, I meant middle age, it's the look that's so deceptive. And as for the models, held up as examples, remember, they're just clothes horses ~ which, if memory serves, was a thing I had as a child ~ it was stupid, did nothing, and served but one purpose; this is something to aspire to being?
