silent phone
then the ring
another
once more
hello
an answer
with a question
hello
a voice
from afar
crafted
by heritage
perfected
by angels
an end
of a day
at one end
the beginning
of a day
on the other
is it you
is it i
time
forsakes itself
distance disappears
the courtship
of tentativity
and desire
a reunion
that
couldn’t be
but is
your sound
your timbre
the resonance
a velvet wave
cascading through
my soul’s arteries
the conversation
familiar, nervous
hesitant, assured
eternities rejoicing
a coming together
of words
and emotions
of where
have you been
we talked forever
or so
it seemed
but forever
couldn’t last
long enough
and after
our eternity
of recognition
and magic
the good byes
leaving palpitations
miraculous
and consuming
for the gods
granting me
a touch of you
once more
